Squatters occupy abandoned Mallorca water park, causing concern

huffingtonpost.es (Spanish)

Squatters have occupied the abandoned Foro de Mallorca water park, a once-popular attraction in Spain, causing concern among authorities. The water park, which opened in 1950 and closed in 2007, was a major tourist destination in Mallorca. Despite being fenced in 2022, squatters have moved into the complex, located inland from Palma. The site, which also included a disco and restaurants, has fallen into disrepair and become a dumping ground. Previous plans to develop the land into a retirement home were rejected.
