Spotify veteran's Modal acquires Swedish AI company Twirl

Swedish AI company Twirl, specializing in data analysis solutions for businesses, has been acquired by Modal, founded by former Spotify executive Erik Bernhardsson. Modal, based in the US, aims to simplify data engineering and AI development. Twirl, founded in 2022, helps companies build data products using machine learning, saving them time and resources. The acquisition will see Twirl's team of four employees join Modal's Stockholm office. Modal, which has raised over $220 million, sees synergies with Twirl's focus on streamlining data processes. The acquisition allows Modal to expand its European presence and integrate Twirl's expertise in data analysis.
