Special Olympics World Winter Games start March 8 in Turin

The Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 will take place in Turin, Italy, starting with the Opening Ceremony on March 8. The games will feature competitions from March 10 to March 15. More than 1,500 athletes from 101 countries will participate, alongside 2,000 volunteers and 1,000 officials. Eight sports will be featured, along with a non-competitive training program. This event follows Turin's history of hosting major sports events, including the 2006 Olympic Winter Games and the 2025 Winter World University Games earlier this year.
