SpaceX secures FAA launch license for Starship Flight 7 test in 2025
SpaceX has received a launch license from the FAA for its Starship Flight 7 test, allowing preparations to begin at its Boca Chica facility in Texas. This follows extensive engine tests and marks progress toward a fully reusable rocket system. The Flight 7 test aims to improve booster recovery and ocean splashdown procedures. It will involve launching the Starship and Super Heavy rocket, attempting a booster catch, and a water landing in the Indian Ocean. SpaceX plans 24 test launches in 2025 to enhance Starship's capabilities for lunar and Martian missions. NASA intends to use Starship for its Artemis 3 mission, scheduled for 2027.
