South Korea bans US streamer Johnny Somali for causing disturbances

South Korea has imposed a travel ban on American streamer Johnny Somali, also known as Ramsey Khalid Ismael, for causing a disturbance at a convenience store last month. He was indicted without detention on Monday. Somali allegedly confronted a store worker over a request not to drink alcohol inside and made sexist remarks. He has previously faced backlash for provocative stunts in South Korea, including inappropriate behavior near a memorial statue. Despite apologizing for his actions, many questioned the sincerity of his remorse. Recently, he posted a video on Instagram making an offensive gesture while holding his passport, captioned “Free Johnny.”
