South Korea and US to launch solar coronagraph to International Space Station

koreatimes.co.kr

South Korea's space agency plans to send a solar coronagraph, developed with NASA, to the International Space Station. This mission aims to study the sun's outer atmosphere and solar wind. The coronagraph, named CODEX, will launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Florida. It will be attached to the ISS for observations during its orbit. CODEX is the first coronagraph to measure solar wind temperature and velocity, in addition to density. This research will enhance understanding of solar wind and improve space weather predictions.
