Sony highlights PlayStation 5's customizable Welcome Hub interface

Sony's PlayStation 5 has introduced the "Welcome Hub," a customizable interface that allows users to add movable widgets for a personalized gaming experience. This update, launched mid-2023, has been well-received despite some initial issues. The "Welcome Hub" was developed during a Sony hackathon by a dedicated team. It provides players with key information, such as Trophy progress, battery life, and storage space, enhancing usability for different types of gamers. Sony's VP Cory Gasaway noted that PS5 users are evenly split between using rest mode and fully powering off their consoles. He mentioned that popular widgets include battery, storage, and online friends, but did not provide details on future updates.
