Sony a1 II camera improves dynamic range over original model

The new Sony a1 II camera has improved dynamic range compared to the original a1. The a1 II peaks at 11.61 photographic dynamic range (PDR), surpassing the original's 11.34 PDR. Both cameras perform best at a base ISO of 100. However, the a1 II maintains its dynamic range advantage at higher ISO levels, starting to recover at ISO 640, while the original a1 peaks at ISO 500. Overall, both models rank among the top full-frame cameras for dynamic range. The a1 II offers similar image quality to Sony's higher-resolution a7R series, making it a versatile option for photographers.
