Sky News incorrectly reported flight cancellations at Heathrow
Sky News faced a significant error on Friday morning when it reported that flights to and from Heathrow Airport were cancelled due to a fire at a nearby electrical substation. During a live broadcast of Anna Jones's breakfast show, the network mistakenly stated that the "Special Air Service" had cancelled all flights. However, it was meant to refer to the airline Scandinavian Airlines, known as SAS. The incorrect graphic claimed that all 12 round trips by the Special Air Service were cancelled. Over 1,300 flights were affected by the disruptions at Heathrow. The situation continues to develop, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
