Six Israeli hostages to be released from Gaza this weekend under truce

Six Israeli hostages are set to be released from Gaza this weekend as part of a truce between Israel and Hamas. Four of these men were captured during the October 7, 2023 attack, while two others have been held for nearly 10 years. Since the ceasefire began on January 19, 19 Israeli hostages have been freed. The ongoing agreement aims to exchange 33 hostages for around 1,900 Palestinians detained by Israel, with the first phase expected to conclude by early March. In addition to the six hostages, the bodies of four deceased captives will be returned to Israel on Thursday. The identities of the six hostages include Eliya Cohen, Omer Shem Tov, Tal Shoham, Omer Wenkert, Hisham al-Sayed, and Avraham Mengistu.
