Sindh declares April 4 a public holiday for Bhutto
The Sindh government has announced that April 4, 2025, will be a public holiday to honor the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. This year marks the 46th anniversary of his execution. The official notification states that all government offices and organizations under the Sindh government, except for essential services, will be closed on this day. This decision follows a previous announcement of three-day public holidays from March 31 to April 2 for Eid ul Fitr. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was executed on April 4, 1979. He was born on January 5, 1928, and had a distinguished education in law and political science in the United States. He became a significant political figure in Pakistan, serving as commerce minister and then foreign minister before founding the Pakistan Peoples Party in 1967. He is known for starting the country's nuclear program and for the 1973 Constitution.
