Sikkim's Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang presented a budget of ₹16,196 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26 in the state assembly on March 26. Tamang noted the challenges posed by the state's mountainous terrain and climate change, and stated that his government is focused on fostering innovation and resilience. After Tamang's 37-minute speech, Speaker M N Sherpa announced that discussions on the budget would continue the next day. Governor OM Prakash Mathur praised Sikkim as a peaceful state and commended Tamang for good governance and quality services. He expressed confidence that Sikkim will continue to progress under Tamang's leadership.
