Shooting in Troy linked to friendship dispute
A shooting occurred at Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan, on March 20, 2025. The suspect, Robert Paljusevic, 21, is accused of shooting a 25-year-old man in the hospital's parking garage. Paljusevic was arraigned on Sunday, facing charges of assault with intent to murder and firearm-related offenses. He pleaded not guilty and is currently held in the Oakland County Jail without bond. The victim reported that he and Paljusevic had met while working at the hospital about a year prior. Paljusevic's family confirmed that they were friends, often hanging out after shifts. However, relations between them had soured recently after a significant event—the victim's father's death. The detective mentioned that Paljusevic felt offended for not being invited to a private viewing for the deceased. After the funeral, a FaceTime call took place between the two. During this call, Paljusevic made inappropriate comments and issued a threatening message, warning the victim not to be surprised if something happened when they met again. Paljusevic's behavior has raised concerns among friends and family. They described him as having a "short fuse" and being argumentative. His family noted a possessive nature towards the victim. Paljusevic has not previously faced serious legal issues, except for a public intoxication incident a few years ago. He is expected to return to court on March 31, 2025.
