Sherrod Brown launches Dignity of Work Institute in Ohio
Former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown has started a new organization focused on workers' rights. This initiative, called the Dignity of Work Institute, will be based in Columbus, Ohio. It aims to research and highlight the challenges that workers face across the country. The Dignity of Work Institute plans to use polls, interviews, and other research methods to gather information. Brown emphasized that this is not a political move for him but a serious commitment to worker issues. He stated, “This isn’t a plaything, this isn’t a launch for higher office.” Brown lost his last Senate election and is now rumored to consider running for governor or the Senate again in 2026. He has consistently focused on workers' rights during his career. Before his defeat, he had a solid record of winning statewide elections in Ohio, despite the state leaning more Republican recently. In his comments, Brown criticized both major political parties. He believes they are not effectively supporting workers. He described the Democratic Party as one that compensates those who have been wronged, while the Republican Party favors the wealthy. Brown wants his organization to help make workers the priority.
