Shanxi governor Jin Xiangjun faces corruption investigation

山西省省长金湘军因涉嫌严重违纪违法，正接受中央纪委国家监委纪律审查和监察调查, marking the third minister-level official to fall this year. The announcement, made on April 12th, follows a meeting of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, which expressed support for the investigation. 金湘军, who previously held positions in multiple provinces, became the governor of Shanxi in January 2023. This investigation comes shortly after the announcement of the 20th Central Committee's fifth round of inspections, which includes Shanxi. The other two officials investigated this year were Qi Zhala and Jiang Chaoliang.
