Seven Springs hosts Pond Skim event as ski season ends
Seven Springs Mountain Resort remains a popular destination as the ski season comes to a close. Despite spring's arrival, many skiers and snowboarders are still enjoying the snowy slopes. On Saturday, the resort hosted its annual Pond Skim event. Contestants in funny costumes tried to ski or snowboard across a 90-foot pond. Some made it successfully, while others ended up making quite a splash in the cold water. Participants aimed to impress judges with their skills and creativity, competing for prizes in categories like best skim, best costume, and best splash. Resort officials say this winter season has been exceptional and are hopeful to extend skiing for a bit longer. They will assess conditions next week to see if they can keep the slopes open for another weekend.
