He is survived by his wife, Ujwala, and their two sons. The fire broke out around 4:20 a.m. on the second floor. The cause is still under investigation. A fire officer reported that Gangan used a fire extinguisher to try and combat the blaze but became trapped in the flames. He suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Uday's son, Prasad, shared details about his father's efforts during the emergency. The incident, which primarily affected Flat 201, was under control by 8:44 a.m. Uday had been working at the building for about eight years and regularly worked night shifts. Residents, including building secretary Abhay Gokani, expressed their intent to support Uday's family during this difficult time.
