The State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced special fixed deposit (FD) schemes with interest rates as high as 7.6%. Investors have until March 31, 2025, to invest in two of these special FDs: SBI Amrit Vrishti and SBI Amrit Kalash. SBI Amrit Vrishti has a term of 444 days and provides an interest rate of 7.25% for the general public. Senior citizens can earn 7.75% on this scheme. Another option, SBI Amrit Kalash, offers a 400-day term with 7.10% interest for regular investors and 7.60% for senior citizens. Apart from these two, SBI also offers other special FD schemes without a set investment deadline. The SBI Sarvottam FD scheme, for example, offers 7.4% interest for a two-year term and 7.1% for one year. Senior citizens can earn even more, with rates up to 7.9% for two years and 7.6% for one year. SBI has also launched the SBI Green Rupee Term Deposit, aimed at funding green projects. This scheme offers interest rates of 6.65% and 6.40% for various tenures, with higher rates for senior citizens. Additionally, SBI has introduced a new FD option called SBI Patrons for super senior citizens, who are aged 80 and above. This scheme offers rates that are 10 basis points higher than those for regular senior citizens. This gives super senior citizens the chance to benefit from better interest rates on their fixed deposits.
