São Paulo police arrest man for PCC leader's murder
A 34-year-old man was arrested in São Paulo on Monday for his alleged involvement in the 2018 murder of a prominent PCC leader. The arrest was made based on an arrest warrant issued by the Ceará justice system. Renato Oliveira Mota, the suspect, was apprehended after seven years on the run and being sought by Interpol. He is accused of participating in the deaths of Rogério Jeremias de Simone, also known as Gegê do Mangue, and Fabiano Alves de Souza, known as Paca. The victims were killed in Ceará after a failed attempt to transport them to Bolivia. The murders were allegedly orchestrated due to a debt of gratitude and financial disputes within the PCC.
