Sanitarium ends peanut butter production due to declining demand
Sanitarium has stopped producing its peanut butter range, with production ending in late July. The company cited declining customer demand as the reason for this decision. All staff have been reassigned to other roles within the company. Earlier this year, Sanitarium also announced it would discontinue several cereal products, including muesli and granola, by June 2025. This move is part of a strategy to focus on more popular brands like Weet-Bix and Up&Go. Sanitarium, owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, reported a surplus of $1.73 million for the year ending June 30. The company employs 564 full-time and 101 part-time staff in New Zealand.
