San Diego FC selects Jasper Löffelsend from Colorado Rapids in expansion draft
San Diego FC selected Jasper Löffelsend from the Colorado Rapids in the MLS expansion draft on Wednesday. The Rapids received $50,000 in General Allocation Money as compensation. Löffelsend, a midfielder, had a limited role with the Rapids last season. In addition to Löffelsend, San Diego FC also chose midfielder Heine Bruseth from Orlando City FC and defender Hamady Diop from Charlotte FC. New York City FC forward Thiago Andrade was picked but was immediately traded to Toronto FC. St. Louis CITY SC midfielder Hosei Kijima was also selected and traded to D.C. United for $400,000 in General Allocation Money. The 2025 MLS SuperDraft is scheduled for December 20, where the Rapids have eight picks.
