Samsung raises prices for 2025 8K mini-LED TVs
Samsung has announced the prices for its 2025 mini-LED TV lineup in the United States. Overall, the news is a mix of good and less favorable updates, especially for 8K TV fans. The new lineup includes two 8K models, the QN990F and QN900F, as well as two 4K models, the QN90F and QN80F. Prices for a third 4K series, the QN70F, will be revealed later. The good news is that the flagship 4K QN90F series is priced similarly to last year's model, with a 65-inch version costing $2,699. The entry-level QN80F series is even cheaper, starting at $1,299 for a 55-inch model. On the downside, prices for the flagship QN990F series 8K TVs are mostly higher than last year's models. For example, a 75-inch QN990F will cost $6,499, compared to $6,299 for the previous year's QN900D. The 65-inch and 75-inch models of the 8K QN900F series are available now, while the 85-inch model will arrive soon. Samsung's 2025 Neo QLED TV prices include: - QN990F 8K: 98-inch for $39,999, 85-inch for $8,499, 75-inch for $6,499, and 65-inch for $5,499. - QN900F 8K: 85-inch for $5,499, 75-inch for $4,299, and 65-inch for $3,299. - QN90F 4K: 98-inch for $14,999, 85-inch for $4,499, 75-inch for $3,299, 65-inch for $2,699, 55-inch for $1,999, 50-inch for $1,499, and 43-inch for $1,399. - QN80F 4K: 85-inch for $3,499, 75-inch for $2,299, 65-inch for $1,799, and 55-inch for $1,299. The new QN990F series offers upgrades like a Wireless One Connect Box and Glare-Free technology. These improvements are aimed at enhancing viewing in bright environments. The TVs support high refresh rates, but some issues with input lag in Game mode have been noted. While consumers usually expect stable or falling prices with new features, 8K prices have risen instead. In contrast, prices for 4K models are stable, and the introduction of lower-cost options like the QN80F series is a positive move. History suggests prices may decrease after the initial launch, similar to past years.
