Samsung patents tri-fold smartphone with two hinges

Samsung Display has received a patent for a new tri-fold smartphone that features two hinges, allowing it to fold twice. This device will join Samsung's existing single-fold models but marks the company's first venture into tri-fold technology. The patent reveals a design with three display panels that can unfold to create a larger screen. It includes a separate cover display and is expected to support an S Pen, indicating stylus functionality. Samsung's tri-fold phone may launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, potentially debuting in July. The design differs from competitors by folding in a G shape rather than a Z shape.
