Samsung may skip One UI 7 for some Galaxy phones

Samsung is reportedly planning to expedite the rollout of Android 16, skipping One UI 7 for many Galaxy phones due to delays and issues with the Android 15-based update. This shift aims to improve security and regain consumer trust. The delayed One UI 7 update, built on Android 15, has been criticized for its slow release, with some phones not receiving it until July. One UI 8, based on Android 16, promises enhanced security features like Advanced Protection Mode. Eligible devices for One UI 8 include recent flagship Galaxy S, Z Flip, and Z Fold models, as well as some A, Tab, F, and M series phones. The update could begin rolling out as early as late July or early August.
