Samsung enters space industry with "Space Factory" project

Samsung has launched a "Space Factory" project, marking its entry into the space industry and aiming to boost South Korea's space program. Samsung C&T is leading the project, with Samsung Electronics also involved in early-stage research and development of space infrastructure solutions, including launch facilities. The company is collaborating with the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute on CubeSat payloads for NASA's Artemis II mission. This initiative follows Samsung's previous space-related endeavors, such as Galaxy watch features and space-themed marketing. Experts believe Samsung's experience in large-scale manufacturing will give it a competitive edge in space exploration.
