Russian watchmaker unveils prototype for world's thinnest watch at Geneva fair
Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin has introduced a new prototype called ThinKing, measuring just 1.65 millimeters thick. This design, unveiled at the Geneva Watch Days fair, aims to surpass the current record held by Bulgari's 1.7-millimeter Octo Finissimo Ultra Mark II. Chaykin's ThinKing is also among the lightest watches, weighing 13.3 grams. It features innovative mechanisms that allow for a thinner design without sacrificing functionality. The watch's components are housed in a separate carrier case, and it includes a unique "double balance" wheel. While the ThinKing is currently a prototype, Chaykin plans to present a final version at the Watches & Wonders trade show in April 2025. The watch's price and further details on its functionality will be revealed at that time.
