Russia uses Chinese turbojet engines in glide bombs

unian.ua (Ukrainian)

Russia is reportedly using Chinese-made turbojet engines in its new UMPB-5R glide bombs, converting them into ersatz cruise missiles. The SW800 engine, also known as TF-TJ800B, was found in a destroyed munition and is available on the civilian market for approximately $15,000-$17,000. This engine has also been used in Russia's "Banderol" cruise missile. This development allows Russian glide bombs to reach targets significantly further than standard models, increasing their range to around 130 kilometers and reducing risks to launch aircraft.
