Russia and US to form teams for Ukraine war negotiations

Russia and the United States will soon form negotiating teams to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Regular consultations will follow these appointments. Lavrov announced this after talks with US officials in Riyadh. He emphasized the need to appoint ambassadors in both countries to improve diplomatic relations. A meeting of deputy foreign ministers will be scheduled to address barriers affecting embassy operations. Lavrov noted that previous diplomatic challenges included expulsions of diplomats and issues with bank transfers.
