Rosie O'Donnell apologizes to Irish PM after Trump meeting

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell has apologized to Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin after her name came up during his recent meeting with President Donald Trump. O’Donnell, who is 63 years old, moved to Ireland following Trump’s re-election. She and Trump have had a long-standing feud. During Martin’s visit to the White House on March 12, he was asked about O’Donnell by Brian Glenn, the boyfriend of GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Glenn questioned why Ireland would welcome O’Donnell, suggesting she might reduce happiness in the country. Martin did not engage with the comment, but it upset O’Donnell. Speaking on Irish television, O’Donnell expressed that it was wrong to put the taoiseach in that situation. She wrote an apology letter to Martin's office, which they acknowledged and appreciated. O’Donnell wanted Martin to understand her history with Trump, who has targeted her for years. In the past, Trump has made derogatory remarks about O’Donnell. For example, in 2007, he joked about her weight regarding furniture. During a debate in 2016, he specifically mentioned her when discussing his comments about women.
