The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) shared a positive update about a young eagle named Riley on Sunday. Riley is now two months old and is reportedly very healthy. At nearly 4 kilograms, Riley can stand independently for longer periods and is developing strong wings. Riley was hatched on January 16 and is the young offspring of two Philippine eagles named Sinag and Dakila. The PEF highlighted that Riley's hatching is significant. It is the first unassisted natural hatching documented for this endangered species. The Philippine eagle is classified as critically endangered, with around 400 pairs left in the wild, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature. The foundation continues to work on the conservation of this majestic bird.
