Remo Stars win first Nigerian league title
Remo Stars won their first-ever Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title, defeating Niger Tornadoes 1-0. This historic victory secures their place in the CAF Champions League. The win, achieved on club owner Kunle Soname's 59th birthday, marks the first time a privately-owned club has won the NPFL since 1996. Remo Stars finished with 68 points, ten ahead of the second-place team. Founded 15 years ago, Remo Stars' triumph is a significant achievement for Nigerian football and the South West region. They will now compete in the CAF Champions League for the third consecutive year.
