Rebecca Yarros announces release date for third Empyrean book Onyx Storm

Rebecca Yarros' third book in "The Empyrean" series, titled "Onyx Storm," will be released on January 21, 2025. The story will continue to follow Violet Sorrengail as she navigates her growing powers and her relationship with Xaden Riorson, who has become a venin. In "Iron Flame," Xaden sacrifices part of his soul to save Violet, leading to his transformation. The upcoming book will explore Violet's quest to find allies and magic to help him, as well as the implications of Andarna's true identity as a unique dragon. Yarros has hinted that Violet will discover a second signet power, which has already manifested in "Iron Flame." A sneak peek of "Onyx Storm" reveals a scene where Violet and Xaden train together, highlighting their mental connection and the challenges they face.
