Rajputs rally for suspended engineer in Ajmer

In Ajmer, tensions have risen between the Rajput and Brahmin communities following the suspension of Raghunandan Singh, a junior engineer with the Ajmer Development Authority (ADA). Singh was suspended after he demolished part of Dr. Kuldeep Sharma's house. Dr. Sharma has the support of the Brahmin community. On Monday, members of the Rajput community held a rally at Paltan Bazaar. They marched to the collectorate and chanted slogans against the district administration. The protesters delivered a memorandum to the district collector, demanding the cancellation of Singh's suspension. Devendra Singh Shekhawat, a protest leader, stated that they would wait for three days for a response. Sumer Singh, the president of the Rajput hostel, defended Singh's actions, claiming he was just following orders from higher authorities. He accused the district administration of succumbing to pressure from the Brahmin community, calling it injustice. Members of the ADA employees' union also joined the protest, taking a half-day leave and presenting their own request to revoke Singh's suspension. Champalal Nagaora, the union president, warned that further protests would occur if Singh is not reinstated.
