Quebec RCMP seize 200,000 pills in drug raids
Quebec's RCMP has raided two secret drug labs in the eastern region of the province. They seized significant amounts of methamphetamine and over 200,000 pills, along with three arrests made during the operations. The investigation started in April 2024 after receiving a tip-off. The labs were located in St-Lin-Laurentides and Sorel, and included homes and commercial spaces. Authorities noted that these labs can be hidden in various places. Among the seized items were 20,000 meth pills, 180,000 suspected meth pills, and 8,000 counterfeit Xanax pills. Officers also confiscated equipment for large-scale drug production and $27,000 in cash. Three men have been arrested, but no charges have been filed yet. Possible charges may include drug production and possession for trafficking, based on the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
