Pune declares Group B Streptococcus outbreak officially over
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) announced that the outbreak of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is now over. As a result, they will stop the door-to-door health surveys that were part of their response to the outbreak. The PMC confirmed that there have been no new cases reported for a certain period. This indicates that the situation is under control. Officials expressed relief that the community's health is improving. The door-to-door surveys were conducted to identify and assist affected individuals. Now that the outbreak is declared over, the PMC will shift its focus to monitoring and preventive measures for future health issues.
