Pudukkottai administration could have prevented Vadakadu violence

CPI(M) State Secretary P. Shanmugam stated that caste-based violence in Vadakadu village could have been prevented with timely action by the Pudukkottai district administration. Shanmugam criticized the administration for failing to take precautionary measures despite knowing of existing tensions, particularly during the May 5 temple festival, and called for an impartial investigation. He also condemned a premature police statement. Shanmugam urged the administration to expedite court proceedings, provide relief to affected Dalit residents, and rebuild a burnt house. Police have arrested 28 individuals in connection with the violence.
