Shanmugam criticized the administration for failing to take precautionary measures despite knowing of existing tensions, particularly during the May 5 temple festival, and called for an impartial investigation. He also condemned a premature police statement. Shanmugam urged the administration to expedite court proceedings, provide relief to affected Dalit residents, and rebuild a burnt house. Police have arrested 28 individuals in connection with the violence.
