Public trust in federal health agencies has declined over the past 18 months, according to a KFF poll. Trust in the FDA dropped from 65% in June 2023 to 53% now. Trust in the CDC also fell from 66% to 61%. The poll indicates that confidence in state and local health officials decreased from 64% to 54%. Trust in the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is similarly low, with Republicans showing less trust than Democrats. Parents are also less likely to keep their children up to date with vaccinations, with 82% reporting they do so, down from 90% in 2023. Trust in personal doctors' recommendations fell from 93% to 85%.
