Public prosecutor appeals acquittal in Ninho do Urubu fire case

The Public Prosecutor's Office will appeal the acquittal of defendants in the Ninho do Urubu fire case. The fire tragically killed 10 young Flamengo academy athletes. A judge acquitted the accused, citing insufficient evidence from the Civil Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office to establish criminal responsibility. Eleven individuals faced charges related to the fire. The judge stated the investigation failed to prove guilt and that defendants acted within their roles, with no direct responsibility for the electrical maintenance where the athletes slept.
