Proton plans UK comeback with affordable electric SUV offering 254-mile range

Proton, a Malaysian car brand that last sold vehicles in the UK in 2014, plans to return with an affordable electric SUV called the e.MAS 7. This model features high-end features and a competitive price of around £20,000. The e.MAS 7 is a rebadged version of the Geely Galaxy E5, offering a range of up to 254 miles. It includes advanced interior features, such as reclining front seats with speakers in the headrests and a large touchscreen. Proton aims to expand its market presence, potentially re-entering the UK market. The brand previously left due to stricter emissions regulations but is now supported by Geely, which also owns Volvo and Polestar.
