Private company achieves first stable moon landing
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander successfully touched down on the moon, marking the first stable landing by a private company. This mission, part of NASA's commercial lunar delivery program, aims to foster a lunar economy and support future astronaut missions. Launched in January, Blue Ghost carries equipment for ten experiments, including a drill and vacuum for lunar soil analysis. The lander is expected to operate for two weeks before lunar daytime ends, sending back valuable data and images. Two other landers are set to follow, with Intuitive Machines aiming for a landing later this week. This mission continues NASA's push for private lunar exploration, despite past failures by other companies.
