Post office and banks remain open on Election Day while some retailers adjust hours for voting
On Election Day, November 5, most businesses will remain open since it is not a federal holiday. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver mail as usual, and major banks will operate normally without changes to their hours. Some retailers are adjusting their hours to support employee voting. Bath & Body Works will open at noon, two hours later than usual. Best Buy is offering employees paid time off for volunteering on Election Day. Patagonia will close its stores on October 29, National Vote Early Day, giving employees a paid day off to vote early. The company is part of a coalition, Time To Vote, which encourages businesses to support employee voting.
