Policewoman injured by Honeylet Avanceña receives medal

A policewoman injured by Honeylet Avanceña, former President Rodrigo Duterte’s partner, will receive a medal from the Philippine National Police. She has chosen not to file charges against Avanceña after the incident during Duterte's arrest on March 11. The officer, who sustained a forehead injury, will be awarded the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting and granted a three-day leave. The police spokesperson noted that the decision not to pursue charges was the officer's personal choice. The incident occurred as police attempted to transfer Duterte to a vehicle for his flight to the International Criminal Court. The police team faced resistance from Avanceña and her daughter during the operation.
