Police remand of Amritpal Singh's aides extended in Punjab
A court has extended the police remand of seven aides of Amritpal Singh until March 28. They are connected to an attack on the Ajnala police station that took place in 2023. These seven accused were recently released from Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam and arrested again by Punjab Police for a different case. They were flown to Punjab on March 20 under tight security. The Punjab government decided not to continue their detention under the National Security Act. A 25-member police team from Punjab was in Dibrugarh to ensure a safe transfer of the accused. The individuals involved are Daljit Singh Kalsi, Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala, Harjit Singh, Bhagwant Singh, Basant Singh, and Gurinderpal Singh. They were previously in jail with Amritpal Singh, the leader of Waris Punjab De.
