Philippines' Supreme Court denies TRO against ICC cooperation
The Supreme Court of the Philippines has denied a petition to halt government cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC). This cooperation follows an ICC order for the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte over alleged crimes against humanity. The court's decision came after reviewing a 94-page petition from Duterte and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa. The court stated that the petitioners did not demonstrate a clear right for a temporary restraining order. This ruling allows the government to continue its engagement with the ICC amid ongoing legal proceedings related to Duterte's actions during his presidency.
