Philippines ready to cooperate with Interpol on Duterte
The Philippine government stated it is prepared to cooperate with Interpol if the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues an arrest warrant for former President Rodrigo Duterte. This follows ongoing investigations into alleged crimes against humanity linked to his drug war. Malacañang officials confirmed they have not received confirmation of any warrant but emphasized their obligation to follow Interpol requests. Duterte is currently in Hong Kong, addressing supporters amid speculation about the warrant's issuance. The ICC has not confirmed any warrant but noted its investigations into the situation in the Philippines are ongoing. The government maintains that it no longer recognizes the ICC's jurisdiction following its withdrawal from the Rome Statute in 2018.
