Philippine House ready to share Duterte inquiry findings
House leaders in the Philippines are now open to sharing findings from their inquiry into former President Rodrigo Duterte's drug war with the International Criminal Court (ICC), despite the government's noncooperation policy. They stated they would comply with any ICC subpoena for documents. Previously, the House was reluctant to provide information due to the Philippines' withdrawal from the ICC in 2019. However, recent discussions indicate a willingness to assist the ICC, which has jurisdiction over the case against Duterte for alleged crimes against humanity. The House's quad committee conducted hearings from August 2024 to January 2025, examining the drug campaign that resulted in thousands of deaths. Their findings may offer valuable evidence for the ICC's ongoing investigation into Duterte's actions.
