Philippine Coast Guard monitors China's largest coast guard ship near Zambales

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has deployed a patrol ship and two aircraft to monitor China's largest coast guard vessel, known as "The Monster," spotted near Zambales province. This vessel was detected 100 kilometers from Capones Island. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla announced that illegal workers from Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogo) will face strict penalties. The Department of Justice reported that around 11,000 foreign Pogo workers are set for deportation for not leaving the country last year. Kanlaon Volcano has increased its sulfur dioxide emissions, releasing 3,639 tonnes in the latest 24-hour period, up from 3,469 tonnes the previous day, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
