Philippine and Japanese defense leaders strengthen ties during Luzon military base tour

Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. hosted Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani on a tour of military bases in Luzon. This visit underscores the strengthening defense relationship between the two nations. During the tour, Nakatani received briefings on operational capabilities at Basa Air Base and visited key facilities, including the Air Missile Defense System Training Center and the FA-50PH Flight Simulator. The officials discussed enhancing their strategic defense partnership, focusing on maritime and air defense, as well as regional security initiatives. They are scheduled to meet again in Makati City on February 24.
