PFF introduces advanced coverage grade to evaluate NFL defenders using machine learning

PFF has introduced a new metric called "Advanced Coverage Grade," which uses machine learning to evaluate defenders. This grade assesses how much separation a player allows and estimates their potential coverage grade if targeted. The Advanced Coverage Grade considers various factors, including the player's position, assignment, coverage scheme, and route depth. This adds more context to PFF's traditional coverage grades. PFF aims to enhance its Premium Stats by incorporating more data. They will offer select data outside of Premium Stats to gauge user interest in these new metrics.
