Paulo Cupertino fled, then police caught him in São Paulo

Paulo Cupertino, who fled after murdering actor Rafael Miguel and his parents in 2019, was captured in São Paulo in May 2022. He was found near the crime scene. Cupertino evaded authorities for three years, using disguises and traveling through multiple Brazilian states, including São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Paraná. He worked as a caretaker and changed his appearance. Police investigated over 300 addresses. The arrest brought relief to the victims' families, who had lived in fear. Cupertino was quoted as saying he had been "wandering" and that he had "not killed anyone else."
